Does my betta have fin rot or fin loss caused by other fish or nitrite?

It sounds like your fish has ammonia poisoning from an overcrowded tank. You can verify this by taking a sample of your water to a fishstore and having them test it. If your ammonia levels are high you will probably loose the fry and ottos very soon.
